The use of pesticides in and around homes, schools, hospitals, public parks, and office
buildings has been regarded as a key urban health issue (5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12). Encompassing both
questions, of environmental quality of public buildings and child safety, is the use of pesticides
in public schools. Parents hold school administrators responsible for the safety of their children
when at school and are beginning to demand accountability for the use of pesticides in the school
environment.
